UTAS

The Patient Partner Program (P3) was established at the University of Tasmania’s Launceston Clinical School in 2005 to facilitate senior medical student encounters with patients with a chronic and often complex illness.

Patient Partners are volunteer patients from the community. They are recruited and consented to participate as partners in learning with the medical students.

The P3 learning encounters occur weekly in order to foster the capabilities necessary for competent patient-centred consultations in clinical practice.

In 2012, P3 won the national Office of Learning and Teaching Program Award.

This database supports the coordination and assessment associated with P3
